Jen Avis RD, CDE, received a BS in Biology and Chemistry and a Masters in Nutrition. Her area of specialty is in diabetes education and management. Jen feels good nutrition is essential to keeping an individual healthy across a lifespan and that good medical care includes both medical management, as well as practical lifestyle changes.



Jen owned a nutritional counseling practice for eighteen years working both one on one with patients and conducting corporate wellness programs. She has published three cookbooks selling over 500,000 copies. Jen truly loves people, and this comes through in the bonds made with her patients. In her spare time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, biking and spending time with her five grandchildren.
