Dr. Richard Dearman is a cardiothoracic surgeon board-certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is dedicated to building lasting relationships with his patients that begins with understanding their individual needs. Dr. Dearman is well versed in diagnosing and treating coronary artery disease, emphysema and hiatal hernias. Dr. Dearman served 16 years in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps, achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and received a Meritorious Service Medal in 1985 and 1988. He earned a medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville before completing a categorical surgery internship and general surgery residency at Medigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash., and later a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
